Our Mission

Arena Theatre is dedicated to the following:

• Performing work that challenges the actors' skill vocally, physically and emotionally
• Giving directors the opportunity to produce the work they want to stage
• Developing the skills of all performers, irrespective of age or ability
• Encouraging younger members to dedicate themselves to the art of performing with a professional attitude of mind
• Making the theatre accessible to its audience, and presenting them with an outstanding body of work
• Having fun in what we do

Performing is a journey through which we never stop learning.

We recognise the need to cultivate new talent and, when we speak of 'open auditions', we are absolutely true to our word.

Lastly, we realise that we are custodians of Arena Theatre and, as custodians, it is our job to leave it in a better position than we found it, as those before us have done. Tradition is nothing without legacy.

If you would like to get involved, whether on the stage or behind the scenes, we would love to hear from you! Unlike many companies, we have no membership or production fees, and no experience is necessary: just enthusiasm!
